Timeless Thursdays
Over the course of the last 40 years, Ralph Lauren has gone from being a wild child to the bastion of ageless style. There has certainly been a shift from his days as the designer of 5” ties, but for Ralph it was all about the lifestyle not just the clothes. That’s why he is able to morph with the times and trends. We the simple charcoal suit here paired with a tartan shirt and club tie. In some ways, it is a bit outside the standard dress of traditionalists, but the fit and attention to detail make this look feel like something you could wear to anything this time of the year.
Goth brown? Ooo, I like it.
This is one of those outfits where can’t decide whether to find this great or horrible.
The half-skirt thing is weird, the bandana and pirate-y styling are absolutely terrible (talk-like-a-pirate-day is only once a year, guys!) .
On the other hand the suit and waistcoat don’t look too bad (even if the fit is a bit off) and I like the belt buckle. It gives the otherwise pretty standard looking suit that special something.
With better fit (especially the arms of the jacket look too wide), without the skirt thing and perhaps with a little colour accent (like a button hole stitched in bright red or blue) it actually would be quite a nice outfit.
… no, just can’t decide …
Givenchy SS11
I always approve of gas masks on the runway.
Bottega Veneta Menswear- FW 2011/12
A suit from Bottega Veneta is like a gift sent straight from the heavens.
